$25 for 25 campaign supports CAC’s 25th anniversary

In honor of 25 years serving the Las Vegas community, The Contemporary Arts Center launches a $25 for 25 campaign to both raise funds and awareness for the sole non-profit contemporary arts center located in the Las Vegas valley. August 2013 officially marked the start of CAC’s 25th anniversary, and the $25 for 25 campaign will run through August of 2014.

“This is an opportunity for the community to support CAC during a milestone year,” said Aurore Giguet, CAC co-president. “During our 25th anniversary this fundraiser will allow us to move forward on all initiatives, hire full-time staff members, and to continue to solidify our presence within the Las Vegas arts community.”

Through $25 for 25, CAC is seeking tax-deductible donations for $25 or more to honor its 25 years of accomplishments. Donations may be made through the organizations website, lasvegascac.org.

Funds raised through this initiative will support the operations of the volunteer-run organization, as well as boost the CAC’s public programming, including its ongoing Conversations @ CAC program, exhibitions and upcoming community partnerships and initiatives. Additional projects underway include:

Partnership with The Fine and Performing Arts Program at Opportunity Village: The CAC is in the planning stages of hosting an annual exhibition of the works of art created by the artists of the Opportunity Village Fine and Performing Arts Program. Artists from the local community will be paired with an artist from Opportunity Village to create a collaborative work of art. Throughout December 2013, all works will be available for purchase and proceeds will benefit both the CAC and Opportunity Village.

CAC partnership with CCSD VOICE: For the second consecutive year, CAC will showcase finalists of the Clark County School District Juried Arts Competition in March of 2014. The mission of the CCSD Secondary Arts Annual Juried Competition is to encourage and engage young minds in the appreciation and understanding of art in public places.

Partnership with The Nevada Museum of Art: Plans are underway with the only accredited art museum in the State of Nevada, to assist in hosting a video simulcast of its Art + Environment Conference in October 2014. The NMA ‘s Center for Art + Environment Conference brings together artists, scholars, designers, and writers for a dialogue that fosters new knowledge in the visual arts.
