24th Annual Juried Show Entry Details

The Annual Juried Show is the Contemporary Arts Center’s (CAC) annual opportunity to expose artists working in contemporary visual arts to a wide audience. This exhibition is a prominent showcase in the Southern Nevada region. More information below or register and submit work online.

ENTRY DEADLINE: Friday, March 29, 2013

ELIGIBILITY: National and international artists 16 years and older may submit a maximum of five works completed within the last twelve months and not exhibited in a previous CAC exhibition.

ErinCosgroveGUEST JUROR: Erin Cosgrove is an artist and writer whose sculptures, drawings, multi-media projects and books have been exhibited throughout the United States and Europe including one-person shows at The Hammer Museum, Los Angeles; Angles Gallery, Los Angeles; Printed Matter, New York; and Espace Croise Centre d’art Contemporain, Roubaix, France. Her work has been included in shows and screenings at Institute of Contemporary Art in London; Kunst-Werke, Berlin; and The Museum of Modern Art, New York. She has received grants and fellowships from The John Simon Guggenheim Foundation, The Creative Capital Foundation, The Durfee Foundation, The Center for Cultural Innovation and other sources.http://www.erincosgrove.com

AWARDS: Over $3,000 in award money will be allocated by the juror.

FEES: Non-refundable fee must accompany each of the up to 5 artworks submitted. Submissions must be paid by credit/debit card. Fee payment does not guarantee that any/all artworks submitted for jurying will be included in this exhibition.

CAC Members $25 for 1st two entries $10 each additional entry, 5 entries total allowed.

Non-members $35 for 1st two entries $15 each additional entry 5, entries total allowed.

REQUIREMENTS: All submissions must be submitted digitally through the CAC’s website.

SELECTED WORKS: Selected artworks must be delivered ready to hang/display. Artworks considered unsuitable for hanging/presentation will be refused. Curatorial staff reserves the right to refuse an artwork that is misrepresented through documentation or is not the piece selected by juror.

SALES: All works must be available for sale, the Contemporary Arts Center receives a 30% commission.

SHIPPING AND INSURANCE: By submitting artwork for consideration for the 2013 Juried Show, the Artist acknowledges and accepts the following stated terms: The exhibiting Artist is responsible for all applicable charges related to the preparation, packaging, insuring, and shipping/delivery of artwork to and from the gallery.The Artist assumes all responsibility and holds CAC harmless for any damages incurred during shipping.

Artist may choose preferred art shipper.

Artist agrees to hold CAC harmless and waive all claims or causes of action against CAC, its officers, directors, employees, and volunteers for any and all damages, loss, or injury caused to any person or person’s personal property arising from or relating to the exhibition of Artist’s artwork at the CAC or by the Artist or persons affiliated with the Artist.

SCHEDULE:

March 29, 2013   All entry forms must be received by 5 pm PST. Late entries will not be accepted.
April 12, 2013     Selected artists will be notified via email of acceptance. PLEASE DO NOT CALL OR EMAIL THE GALLERY.
May 3, 2013      All accepted works, including shipped works, MUST be received by the CAC no later than 7 pm PST.
Hand delivered works can be dropped off Thursday April 25th and Friday April 26th between 11 am -7 pm PST. Late drop-offs will not be accepted
May 10, 2013      Opening reception and awards ceremony for artists and guests from 6-9 pm PST
July 6, 2013        Close of Show
July 7 – 8, 2013   All hand delivered work MUST be picked up
                          Sunday July 7 from 12 – 4 pm
                          Monday July 8 from 4 – 7 pm
                          Work left after this date will be subject to a $5 per day storage fee. All other work will be shipped by Thursday July 11.
